​ABOUT THE FOUNDER,

TOLU RACHAEL AKISANYA 

​

​

Founded by publicist Tolu Rachael Akisanya, after over a decade of experience, both in-house and in agencies, establishing her career in Public Relations with some of the UK’s leading publicity teams, and across TV, Film, Entertainment and the creative industries, working with From big-budget productions to lower budget independent films and projects.

​

With over 12 years experience in the PR industry, Tolu has produced clear and comprehensible strategic plans for a range of Theatrical and Home Entertainment feature titles, including Payback Season (2012), iLL Manors (2012), SKET (2011), Into The Abyss (2011), Iron Sky (2011), as well as, extensive experience in Talent Management working with a range of high profile clients such as Joe Cole, Adam Deacon, Joe Dempsie, Maxine Peake, Vicky McClure, Gizzi Erskine, Amanda Byram, Tanya Burr, Jim Chapman, and many more.

Tolu has also managed corporate communications, and the profile & publicity campaigns for television programmes, and organisations such as Revolver Entertainment, Mentorn Media, Pioneer Productions, Passion Distribution, and managed industry campaigns such as Directors UK's diversity and equality campaigns.

She has worked in a wide variety of industries, including Entertainment, Lifestyle, Fashion, Beauty, Film, Food, Sports and more, working with some sports and lifestyle brands including Barclays Premier League, Rugby Football Union, Boots, Coca-Cola, Dove, Vaseline, Rimmel, Petplan.

​

After working behind the scenes in the entertainment industry and noticing the lack of diversity, she developed Ground Floor to help create more opportunities and better access to media & creative industries for BAME talent.​ She also produce and co-host The Culture Reel podcast - a new platform, bridging the diversity gap and promoting the inclusion of voices, in film criticism and entertainment journalism - reviewing and discussing some old favourites and latest TV & Film releases, and co-founded The First Film Club, a screening event showcasing the debut short film and feature film of directors, and celebrating a diverse range of filmmakers.
